With the rapid development of our country's economy, nylon products are becoming more and more popular among people. Reinforced nylon 66 is a common reinforced nylon product now. It is widely promoted and used due to its excellent performance and is favored and loved by everyone. Its advantages can be introduced from 4 aspects:
1. Nylon is a polyamide with amino groups on its main chain. Amino groups are polar and attract each other through hydrogen bonding. Therefore, nylon crystallizes easily and can be made into very strong fibers. Polyamide is a tough, horny, translucent or milky white crystalline resin that is often made into cylindrical pellets. The molecular weight of polyamide used for plastics is generally 15,000 to 20,000.
2.GFR-nylon is a plastic (FR-PA) obtained by adding a certain amount of glass fiber to nylon resin for reinforcement. It can be divided into long glass fiber reinforced nylon produced by the coating method (fiber and plastic particles are of equal length, generally about 10mm) and chopped fiber by mixing, or continuous fiber is introduced into a twin-screw extruder for continuous shearing and mixing. The obtained short glass fiber reinforced nylon (glass fiber length is about 0.2~0.7mm).
3. Adding 30% glass fiber to PA, the mechanical properties, dimensional stability, heat resistance, and aging resistance of PA66 are significantly improved, and the fatigue resistance strength is 2.5 times that of the unenhanced one.
4. Use reinforcing materials to improve the performance of nylon. Reinforcing materials include glass fiber, asbestos fiber, carbon fiber, titanium metal, etc. Among them, glass fiber is the main one to improve the heat resistance, rigidity, dimensional stability, and mechanical properties of nylon, especially The mechanical properties are significantly improved and it becomes an engineering plastic with excellent performance. There are two types of glass fiber reinforced nylon: long fiber reinforced and short fiber reinforced nylon 66.
